Summit Springs Ranch

Situated approximately two hours from Sun Valley, the 3,785-acre Summit Springs Ranch combines two miles of spring creek fishing with terrific big game and upland bird hunting on a vast private preserve that is almost completely surrounded by public land. Beartooth Capital acquired the original ranch’s 3,160 acres in the Upper Little Lost River Valley, then added 625 acres that knit the property together and increased its important recreational resources. Summit Springs Ranch now encompasses a contiguous expanse of land nearly six square miles in size with Bureau of Land Management land on the east and west and a National Forest boundary to the north.

The ranch has more than two miles of private spring creek fishing on Summit Creek that has been improved through restoration work including riparian fencing and extensive cottonwood, river birch and willow plantings. Brook trout and rainbow trout are present in large numbers and bull trout are known to reside in the creek as well. The ranch’s location in the midst of public land helps drive extensive wildlife traffic through the property (including elk, deer, pronghorn and other wildlife) and ensures that the views of the surrounding Lemhi and Little Lost mountain ranges remain protected. With the completion of a custom-designed hand-hewn squared-log cabin at the heart of the ranch overlooking Summit Creek, the property is ready for a new owner to enjoy immediately.

The Nature Conservancy holds a conservation easement protecting part of the ranch while leaving ample room and flexibility for the new owner to enjoy and improve the ranch and its infrastructure. The remainder of the ranch will be protected by a new owner or by Beartooth Capital.
